Wind change on the first day of the Laser Radial European Youths Finals at Egaa DEN with an onshore breeze. The Radial Boys sail now in a Gold- and Silverfleet, the Girls continue racing in one fleet.
The only race in the Radial Boys ended with some modifications in the overall rankings. Gianmarco Planchestainer ITA is new on top 3 points ahead of Ryan Lo SIN on rank 2. Martin Manzoli BRA as 3rd remains in the race for the title, while the 4th-ranked Mateo Sammarco ITA is already 30 points behind the Bronze Medal position.
The Radial Girls sailed two races and also here, a leader change occurred. Finishing 1 and 2, Jillian Lee SIN clearly took the overall lead 13 points ahead of Monika Mikkola FIN. Marie Barrué FRA is now on 3rd. The previous leader Maud Jayet SUI could not cope with the new conditions and is now 3 points behind the French on rank 4. Hannah Anderssohn GER on rank 6 is the best U17-ranked girl.

Another new launch but with a spotted history. This project is a 33.8-meter sailing yacht billed at the time as "Green Seagull" but launched recently as "Neorion". How is that possible? Back in 1999 the project started at Dutch yard Bloemsma van Breemen but during construction, it ran into trouble and never progressed any further. It took a new owner to take up the project in 2011 and pour the much-needed finances to finish work.
The current owner hired Olivier van Meer Design to do the interior design as well as appropriate sail plan for the yacht. It was emphasized by the new owner that the vessel should be able to be sailed by a minimum of two persons. With the new design brief attended to, construction resumed and she relaunched as Neorion. She trails have been now completed and the yacht is actually embarking on her maiden voyage. Neorion boasts classic lines and is finished in white paint, matching her gleaming white sails and is contrasted by the browns of the wooden-work of the superstructure.
