Italian yard Perini Navi has revealed plans for a 47 metre flybridge sailing yacht, which was developed by its in-house design team.
This high-performance sloop boasts sleek hull lines, 142 square metres of deck space and a sail plan totalling 2,315 square metres.
The as-yet-unnamed project features a retractable keel, meaning the draft can be reduced from 9.5 metres to 3.9 metres when the owner wants to access shallow anchorages.Key features that back up the high-performance claim include proprietary captive reel winches and furling systems, as well as Perini Navi’s patented fly-by-wire steering system, which delivers a tactile cruising experience at the helm.
Low sill lines add to the elegant profile of the 47 metre, while ensuring great views out to sea in all directions from the glass-sided saloon.
Perini Navi has paid particular attention to creating a sense of flow between the distinct areas on the main deck, with everything from the transom to the bridge on the same level.
On board accommodation is for eight guests split across a full-beam owner’s suite with its own superyacht office and three further double cabins. The crew quarters allow for a staff of up to eight people and the flush foredeck conceals the tender garage. The engine installation is yet to be disclosed, but Perini Navi did confirm that the yacht would be built to LY3 standards.
Other projects currently under development at the Italian yard include a pair of 60 metre ketch sailing yachts, C2232 and C2239, both of which are due to hit the water in 2017.
Dutch shipyard Damen has revealed its latest Sea Axe explorer yacht project, a 43 metre called the Adventure 4008.
Designed to appeal to adrenaline lovers and outdoor thrill seekers, the Damen Adventure 4008 was unveiled earlier this month at the 2016 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Mark Vermeulen, product director at Damen, said: “The muscular, rugged looks are not just for show. The Adventure 4008 has serious capability with proven performance in the most demanding environments. It’s a no-nonsense yacht — very reliable.”
This floating toy box features an aft deck that measures 140 metres square and can carry all of the latest superyacht water toys, including submarines, Jet Skis, sports tenders and much more besides. This area can also be used as a superyacht helipad with a maximum take-off weight of 3.7 tonnes.Accommodation on board the Damen Adventure 4008 is configurable up to a maximum of up to eight guests split across five cabins, while the interior design is also open to customisation.
Key features include a spacious dining area, a shaded al fresco dining space on the main deck, a large swim platform and a bridge deck lounge that offers panoramic views out to sea.
