Sold new Heesen motor yacht Project Antares

Project Antares, also known as YN 18455, has been sold to American client.

Project Antares is a
55 metre fast displacement motor yacht that can accommodate 12 guests in six luxurious cabins.

This is the second project that has been secured by Thom Conboy of Heesen Yachts in 2017, and his third since joining Heesen Yachts as US representative.

Her defined exterior lines are the work of Omega Architects, and all together Antares encompasses an impressive volume of 740 Gross Tonnes.
Design is
contemporary Italian design with the ingenious engineering typical of this Dutch shipyard.

Progressuve hull design is devised by
Van Oossanen Naval Architects.
Project Antares offers a maximum speed of 16 knots and frugal fuel consumption, resulting in a remarkable range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots.

Marketing director at Heesen Yachts said that the one of the most interesting features on the boat will be that she’s being set up to act as a sort of mothership to the owner’s fishing boat — he’s a keen sportfisherman so he wanted a much bigger yacht to base his operations from.

She will be delivered to her owners in November 2018.

Balk Shipyard has launched world cruiser Sandalphon

Last week, Dutch refit specialists launched the completely rebuilt 31-metre explorer type motor yacht Sandalphon

The yacht was known before as project Gisele.
Sandalphon started construction in Brazil and in 2015. arrived at Balk Shipyard where she was completely stripped down and lengthened to her current measurements.

The vessel was essentially cut in half – twice. A precise incision amidships and another aft made it possible to add roughly four metres of new ship to
Sandalphon.
Balk Shipyard and Azure Naval Architects redesigned a variety of areas onboard as she started taking new shape. Azure played a big role in the redesig nof the guest spaces onboard. Azure handled also the interior arrangements and decor.

“This project has been challenging for my team. Stripping down a yacht and rebuilding it again might be a harder job compared to a new build,” says Daan Balk, CEO of Balk Shipyard.
The Sandalphon rebuild marked the first collaboration between the yard and Azure Naval Architects.

Sandalphon is expected to be ready for handover at the end of May or June later this year.
