Review: Moonen 100' Explorer Yacht​

A highly experienced yachtsman, Salim has been an active member of YachtForums for nearly a decade. In 2007, Moonen launched his first 94' fast-yacht, Nilo. New Salona 38 PC

Presentation of the new Salona 38 PC

After presenting their newest model; Salona 60 and developing plans for even bigger twenty meter long Salona 67, Croatian manufacturer of sailboats has continued to work on expanding and updating its offer too keep in pace with ever demanding markets.



The new model, Salona 38 PC, currently under development is designed as an upgrade of existing popular and well known model; Salona 38The new model is designed by well known and awarded Italian studio Cossutti Yaht Design whose previous design include prestigious racing and cruising sailboats. This new cruiser/racer with its 11.60 m (38 feet) length over all and 3.70 m (12 feet) beam will be just slghtly lager than its predecessor but enough to offer a more spacious interior.
The new Salona 38 PC will be offered in two and three cabin version, with queen sized double beads in all cabins. The saloon in both versions will feature an L shaped kitchen, a central folding dining table and two sofas which can double as two additinal berths.
The new redesign will feature a smaller displcement of 6000 kg which is 500 less than in previous model, and the ballast mass will be around 2000 kg, that is 270 kg less then in predecessor. These savings in weight should have a positive impact on the sailing characteristics, especially the racing side of this cruiser / racer.

On the esthetic side, the new model will be distinctive by its more rounded lines especial on the superstructure. The new wndow design will offer greater  windows area which will help bring more light in the interior of the saloon. The most visible change on the stern wil be the introduction of the stern platform which will enclose the back part of the cockpit when retracted.
The new model, although still under design, will be offered to visitos of Dusseldorf boat show with a special offer of early clients. The Salona Yacht plans that first units of the Salona 38PC will set sail this summer.
