They profitted from a light wind zone yesterday to fully check the 'Cheminées Poujoulat' and effect repairs if necessary. Bernard Stamm SUI spent several hours on top of the mast to fix the wind measurement system. Right now, the excitement in the race is for the ranks 2 and 3, as 'Neutrogena' (Altadill ESP/Munoz ESP) going South has lost even more miles and is now only 51 miles in front of Anna Corbella/Gerard Marin ESP sailing 4 kn faster. Jörg Riechers GER/Sébastien Audigane FRA, with no position signal this morning, will probably remain 300 miles behind.
It has been a bumper season for Italian luxury yacht builder Benetti Yachts. Their build portfolio is vast as it encompasses production and full custom yachts.
They are busy and continually add to their backlog of work. In the months since September 2014, this Italian company has sold nine motoryachts, an impressive statistic. Combine that with the number of yachts they have under construction and are also expected to deliver this year, then you have an idea. Benetti is expected to deliver some nineteen (19) yachts during 2015 and they have as many as 45 under construction. The nine yachts sold have been been from different lines in the portfolio and include a Veloce 140, a custom 65-meter and seven displacement class hulls. Earlier we said that the company is expected to deliver nineteen yachts this year, so here is what to expect. Twelve of them are Class semi-custom hulls while the other seven (7) are all custom superyachts above 50-meters! The 45 yachts in build at the moment is of course spread across the Viareggio and Livorno yards.
