Wally Cento "Galateia" Launches At Wally Yachts

Italian builder Wally Yachts launched the third unit in the Wally Cento series. The 30.48-meter racing luxury yacht is called "Galateia" and showcases Naval Architecture by Reichel Pugh Yacht Design. She will be having a dual personality allowing her to duel in maxi races but still being luxurious and comfortable enough to be a high-end cruiser for her owner and family. The schedule is already up for Galateia with her destined for Caribbean cruising and regatta racing in the winter once she is completed. Then afterwards she will cross the pond to the Med.

Galateia is out and about conducting her sea trials so the launch was recent. The flush-deck yacht has fairly spacious interiors and boasts accommodation for up to six in three cabins - a master suite that is located forward- and two double cabins with ensuite facilities. Two cabins are also available towards the bow for the crew. Luca Bassini, Wally founder and company President, said: “The wallycento formula is indisputably successful because these superyachts proved to be highly competitive, very technical, extremely fast in all conditions, and exceptionally cruiser friendly. With all these characteristics, the wallycento superyachts currently reflect the highest technological expression of the world of large sailing yachts continuing the tradition of the true Maxis, which is racing in an homogeneous and competitive fleet.”

Project 'Genesi' By Wider Yachts Vacates Build Shed

Originally due to launch in September 2015, the Wider Yachts Project 'Genesi' finally crept out from her build shed into the open on her 'technical launch'. The 150-foot project is anticipated to be fully launched sometime later this week. With a design by Fulvio de Simoni, this yacht is sure to expand the boundaries of itself. By now readers would know this is the Italian company's largest build to-date showcasing their dexterity in transforming the features that made them well-known in the yachting industry into a megayacht sized vessel.

Staying true to the name 'Wider', this 150-foot yacht will have the beach club as the highlight of the craft. Boasting large fold-down doors in the hull on all three sides to reveal a stunning 23-foot swimming pool and amble lounging as well as relaxation spaces. If that wasn't enough recreational water onboard, project Genesi has a jacuzzi on the forward sundeck your stresses to be soaked away in. Her foredeck on the bow also transforms too, revealing a wonderful sitting area for guests when activated. Stay tuned for more on Project Genesi (Italian for Genesis) as she heads towards the water.
