Dominator Yachts Launch Second 24.5-meter Dominator 800

Austrian yacht builder Dominator Yachts recently launched the second hull in the Dominator 800 range. The new yacht is part of a range that replaced the popular Dominator 780 series.

Okay, maybe not replaced but has spun off the design and successes of the D780. With the first hull being launched that was more of a standard version of the new range. The second and current hull which was recently launched, is more of a customized version.
The CEO of Dominator International, Alex Langhein commented on the launching and individualistic nature of the yacht. “For each yacht we produce, we always seek to perfect, improve and update. We don’t build 10 of the same specification and then try to find customers for them. When a customer chooses a yacht from our range, we sit down with them and discuss the latest technology. This means that every Dominator launched is not just up to date but is a forerunner in technology.” She is performance oriented as you would expect with a 35-knot top-end speed being supplied by the power of MAN. Dial her back to cruising status and she still outputs blistering 25 to 27-knot figures. Dial back even further to trawling speeds of 10-knots continuously a range of 1,450 nautical miles is possible.

On the interior, the second hull features an interior by Alberto Mancini. Mancini went on to talk about the interior work. “My personal choice which was accepted and which we worked on together was to develop a nice warming and elegant atmosphere, not big contrasts but tone on tone colours, a shade of beigetaupe and grey. The brighter oak brushed painted parquet with the oak painted bulkhead gives immediately a welcoming perception of elegance.” There is no sacrifice in luxurious materials utilized on the interior with light Ostrich leather being among them.

Federico Fiorentino Designed 56-meter Expedition "Queequeg"

Following in the footsteps of the Extraordinary League lines of "Belafonte", Federico Fiorentino has sketched out yet another category-busting design; a futuristic 56-meter Expedition Yacht with a military overtone.

This 177-foot expedition yacht features a foam green hull and dark gray superstructure that looks more like a military cruiser than an exploration vessel. The bow is reminiscent of Princess Mariana (now Pegasus V) with a reversed toe-rail element that reminds us of the latest series of Bering Yachts. Queequeg takes its name from the South Seas chieftain in the Moby-Dick novel who leaves his island to explore the world.Much like his previous express-based Belafonte, Fiorentino continues in his attempt to design unique yachts with strong character.Queequeg carries this ideal forward with abrupt, sharp lines and an aggressive low profile stance that looks like a study in reducing a radar cross section. From a distance, it should easily concern those with less than benign intentions.Queequeg will accommodate 12 guests in 6 cabins with crew accommodations for 13. The design calls for a 950-square-foot owner’s suite on the upper deck that features a private rear terrace, enclosed gym and a skeet-shooting area. The 860-square-foot VIP suite on the main deck will be equally as lavish. On long passages, guests can recreate in the “virtual room,” which converts to a cinema or virtual golf course or shooting range.

The nearly full-beam swim platform doubles as a beach club. Additionally, a 400 sq ft spa and wellness center are incorporated into this aft area. Two tenders are stored on the aft deck, easily deployed for reconnaissance missions. The wide Helideck platform with an enclosed pool on the upper deck completes the outfit of this outstanding yacht for the ultimate adventure. Queequeg could easily adopt a more efficient Diesel-Electric propulsion and pod transmissions to cut fuel consumption and emissions.
