The first hull in the Ferretti 650 line has been launched by the Italian builder, Ferretti. The yacht has been a collaboration between Advanced Yachts Technology & Design (AYT&D) and Studio Zuccon International Project. The new 65-footer rises two internal decks above the waterline and has an open fly deck with an extensive fly bridge navigational control area.
The standard engine setup seems to be twin CAT C18s which will allow this new planing yacht to run up to 30.5-knots and high-cruise at around 27-knots. There is the option for slightly more powerful engines to be used onboard. If chosen, the optional 1,150 HP CATs would increase her top speed to around 33-knots and high-cruise closer to 30-knots.
"...the launch of this model makes us extremely proud", commented Stefano de Vivo, Ferretti Group‘s Chief Commercial Officer. "This new yacht by Ferretti Yachts combines impressively user-friendly on-board instrumentation with the brand’s traditional and unmistakable on-board comfort and live-ability, and features solutions capable of turning into reality the dreams of owners from all over the world, from the East to the West."
The great interest raised by this type of craft at an international level is confirmed by the great success this project has already met with, just a few months after its first presentation: indeed, the first hull of the Ferretti Yachts 650 was sold to a Chinese owner even before it was launched, a fact that bears witness to the increasing interest the brand is attracting on the leading market of the Asia-Pacific region. The second hull, under construction is being built for an Owner from Lebanon while a third 65-foot hull will be for a U.S owner and will feature a hardtop.
