The leading four boats have passed the Cape Verde Islands during the last night in a well-established trade wind.
Different strategies cause frequent position changes, and this morning, 'Neutrogena' (Guillermo Altadill ESP/José Munoz CHI) has taken the lead for the first time 12 miles ahead of 'Cheminées Poujoulat' with Bernard Stamm SUI/Jean Le Cam FRA. The long-time leader 'Hugo Boss' with Alex Thomson GBR/Pepe Ribes ESP lost some distance opting for the most westerly route and is now on the 5th place. But having accelerated to a 21 kn average speed, 5 kn faster as the direct opponents, she is coming back strongly from behind. The situation remains exciting, and at the earliest, the passage of the innertropical convergence zone during the coming weekend might provoke some major changes.
Much of the attention for Sunseeker was recently centered around the new baby-blue hulled 155 flagship "Blush" and her very famous owner. With Blush now etched in the minds of the yachting public, attention has now moved to the second hull in the Sunseeker 155 line. The new boat is currently under construction and scheduled to be launched next year. Sunseeker released brand new renderings displaying how the interior of hull number two will appear. The new build is currently going by the project name 'Gold Diamond' and as we know that may not be the final name of this yacht. Sunseeker says that the yacht is scheduled to be completed by early 2016 and there after be available for charter.
While hull two may appear similar to the debut vessel, there are a couple differences that we can see already. For one, the interior is different, quite obviously. The main salon layout is very seating friendly and with the plush nature of the furniture depicted in the renderings. It should be a rather comfortable space to entertain and relax in. Project Gold Diamond is also expected to have a more powerful engine package, touting twin 16V MTUs. The interior is contemporary and sophisticated with neutral and sandy tones dominating. Look out for the second hull in the Sunseeker 155 series in early 2016.
