Hamburg's boat show Hanseboot has reported strong visitor numbers for its opening weekend (25-26 October).
The German show, which is in its 55th year, saw around 24,000 visitors pass through its doors on the first two days alone.
The event runs at the Hamburg Messe centre until Saturday 2 November, and this year's theme is ‘Northern Waters, Northern Lifestyle'.
Boats on show at the event range from eight to 56 feet, with larger craft on display at the nearby City Marina, which can be reached by a free shuttle bus service.
Highlights include the Fairline Targa 44, which is capable of 38 knots, and the Elling E3, which is worth upwards of £530,000.
The show's organisers have laid on a range of new attractions, such as the Canoe World and Refit Arena zones.

Remember the "Adastra" by McConaghy Yachts? Of course you do, that was a ground-breaking trimaran design that had everyone talking.

Fast-forward to today and there is another trimaran design, 53-meters long, under construction at Latitude
Yachts in Latvia.
The designers are to no surprise, Coste Design & Partners. The vessel will be three decks tall, the lower deck in the main hull, the main deck above and an open-air sun deck for relaxation perched behind the bridge. The main deck is spacious with provision for al-fresco dining on the aft main.
Take two sweeping access stairs on either side of the aft main deck and you ascend to the aft sun deck. This deck features a large jacuzzi pool flanked by sunpads.
As large as the trimaran is, she is only expected to sleep six guests and six crew members. Project 'Galaxy' is the name she is going by is to be powered by a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M94 diesels.
Top speed is expected to be a brisk 28-knots and still-brisk 20-knots
cruising speed.
With her construction well-advanced at the moment, delivery is scheduled for the Summer of 2015.
