Italian yacht builder CRN has delivered the 50 metre Latona.
The private yacht was built under the codename Project Superconero and launched in February 2018.
The motor yacht Latona has now left the shipyard and is cruising the Mediterranean. She will make her world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show.
The naval engineering, design and interiors were developed by the CRN Engineering team working in partnership with Zuccon International Project. Latona yacht features an 8.6 metre beam and a total interior volume of just under 500 gross tonnes.
Latona will include all the premium features CRN is famed for, such as a fold-out balcony and a superyacht beach club. The latter can be flooded and turned into a tender garage when needed.
Further details are being kept under wraps for now, with the total guest capacity undisclosed, but it is understood that Latona has been fitted with a pair of 1,600hp Caterpillar C32 diesel engines for a top speed of 15 knots and will boast a transatlantic range when trimmed back to 11 knots.
Italian yard Cantiere delle Marche has signed a contract to build a new 40 metre motor yacht called Aurelia 29.
To be built in steel and aluminium to RINA class with exterior design by Hydro Tec, Aurelia 29 is scheduled for delivery in 2020.
The client also owns the same yard’s Darwin 102 motor yacht Galego, which is currently listed for sale.
Interior details have not yet been disclosed, although the owners are apparently looking for pure elegance throughout her interiors and a timeless design. One main request from the interior designer's brief is that "nothing should look brand new or like a trendy top-class furniture showroom”.
Twin Caterpillar C32 diesel engines will power her to a maximum speed of 14 knots and, drawing on 60,000 litre fuel tanks, she will have a range of 5,000 nautical miles at ten knots. Zero speed stabilisers will ensure a comfortable cruising experience.
Other superyacht projects currently under development at the Italian yard include the 42.8 metre flagship Project K42, which was launched last month.
