Palumbo Group has revealed its latest concept, a 52 metre explorer yacht called Tomahawk, which was designed by long-term partner Marco Casali.
The naval architecture for this rugged steel displacement
yacht was developed in collaboration with research vessel specialist Insenaval and the interior volume totals 499GT.
Casali describes Tomahawk as “a yacht inside a ship”, due to the way it balances high levels of comfort with exceptional seakeeping qualities. Accommodation is for ten guests split across five staterooms, including an owner’s suite in the bow that measures 75 metres square. The owner also gets a private terrace measuring 21 square metres, complete with a sunbathing area and a
superyacht hot tub.
Guest accommodation is on the lower deck and provides direct access to the 300 square metre beach club, which includes a superyacht spa, gymnasium and six-metre swimming pool that can be converted into a basketball court. The central crane would be used to support the bimini shade as well as launching tenders.
Other key features on board
Tomahawk include a dining area with an American-style bar and a multifunction cinema/karaoke room. The aft deck allows
Tomahawk to carry a pair of 12 metre tenders and either a submersible or four Jet Skis. Further water toy stowage is provided in the bow, while the upper deck includes an MCA-compliant helipad.
Power would come from a pair of 1,528hp MTU 12V 4000 M52R engines, which give
Tomahawk a theoretical top speed of 15.5 knots and a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 14 knots.
Other superyacht projects currently under development at the Italian yard include the Palumbo Oceanic 70 and the ISA Super Sport 121.
