The A-Cat European Championship 2014 began yesterday on Lake Hourtin in a light 4-6 kn wind with two races with 106 participants split in two groups. Finishing 1 and 3, the A-Cat 'King' Glenn Ashby AUS has already taken the lead, but on the following ranks 2 to 4 are new names with Georg Reutter GER, Marcin Badzio POL and Jason Waterhouse AUS. Convincing with the ranks 5 and 1 was also the Vendée-Globe-winner François Gabart FRA, who already proofed his catamaran skills in F-18 races.
