Royal Caribbean expends his fleet with 3 more ships

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., based in Miami, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the French shipbuilder STX France for the construction of the fifth ship Oasis-class and two additional ship classes Edge.

The ships are expected to join their owners in spring 2021 and autumn 2021 and 2022.

"Although the delivery of our first class ship Edge is still more than two years, there is a huge interest in the new standard of style Edge class that we present," said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO, Celebrity Cruises.

"Solstice Class has introduced a new era of design for modern cruise ships, and Edge class will not disappoint as a new generation of high style and design," she added Lutoff-Perlo.

Royal Caribbean also said that the capacity to 2016 and until 2020 will not change.

The company has taken delivery of its largest ship, "Harmony of the Seas", on May 12, when the ship officially joined the fleet of its owner in Saint Nazaire, France.

With 227,000 gross tons, cruise ship will sail from Southampton on a series of short trips to northern Europe, including Rotterdam and Cherbourg, before it sails on its inaugural journey on June 5 from Barcelona in Spain.
