PC60 "Ptolemy" Launches at Horizon Yachts

The newest and latest Horizon PC60 (Power Catamaran) was launched by Horizon Yachts and already is called "Ptolemy".

The owners aren't new to Horizon Yachts nor new to owning yachts. They have owned the first PC60, "Blue Horizon" and are now the proud owners of another one. The owners joined Horizon Group CEO John Lu and his wife, along with Horizon USA Preferred Partner Richard Ford of the Power Catamaran Company, for sea trial and launch celebration at the Horizon City Marina. “We are very excited to launch a second PC60 power catamaran for these experienced owners and friends,” said Lu. “We know Ptolemy will see just as many Bahamas adventures as her predecessor, and we wish the owners a wonderful time making new memories on their Horizon!”

After spending the past four years cruising Blue Horizon, the owners were ready to move into another new build PC60, this one customized a bit more to suit their newly-retired status. They enjoy having family and friends on board, so they opted for a four stateroom layout; the spacious main deck, in addition to featuring a large salon, open kitchen and bar area, also includes the on-deck ensuite Master stateroom. Below deck are three staterooms – a stbd hull ensuite VIP and twin guest stateroom with a private head, and a port twin guest stateroom with a private head. American Oak is used throughout the yacht for beautiful, light atmosphere. Exterior spaces on the PC60 are designed for entertaining – the foredeck offers a sunbathing area, and the aft deck, complete with built-in seating, a dining table for eight, and a wet bar, is the perfect place to gather for a meal or cocktails. Moving up top, the open bridge incorporates an L-shaped dinette and riding seat to starboard, wet bar to port and plenty of room to spare for a tender on the boat deck; a neat feature on the wet bar is a blue glass design, which can be illuminated at night to provide a nice glow up top. Equipped with twin Cummins 705 HP engine, Ptolemy reaches a top speed of 22-knots and cruises at 18-knots; she scheduled to deliver to the U.S. in early June.
