Volvo 65 - Volvo Ocean Race 2014/15 - Leg 4 - Day 19

The leading trio has now passed the most northern point of North New Zealand and is in the final approach to the 'City of Sails' Auckland. 230 miles are left for the new leader 'Abu Dhabi' (Ian Walker GBR) this morning, but the race is far from being decided.

East of New Zealand is a low-wind anticyclone that has to be passed, and the boats are still closely together. 6 miles behind 'Abu Dhab' follow 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) and another 0,5 miles back 'Mapfre' (Javi Fernandez ESP), and even 'Alvimedica' (Charlie Enright USA) 31 miles behind has some chances left to arrive first in Auckland. While the quartet ahead is fighting for the line honours, a matchace between 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED) and 'SCA' (Samantha Davies GBR) with a backlog of over 100 miles will decide on the ranks 5 and 6.
