The fleet reached the most northern point of the Philippines this morning and is now cruising around the offshore islands in a light breeze.

Only the two teams at the back of the fleet - 'SCA' (Samantha Davies GBR) and 'Brunel' (Bouwe Bekking NED) - tried yesterday to avoid the lull zones with a tack North, in the direction of the southern tip of Taiwan. But up to now, both have lost much milage and are over 150 miles behind. 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) is still first, but the three persuers are sailing within 0.5 miles of the leader.
The toughest days of the VOR with winds touching 30 knots and waves up to 14 feet are now behind the teams. A video taken by 'Dongfeng' shows the extreme levels of difficulty in doing anything on board.
