Olympic Worldcup 2015 - Olympic Classes Regatta - Miami FL, USA - Day 4


The Final Series with the fleets split in Gold and Silver began yesterday in a 8-12 kn breeze, the lightest wind during this 2015 MOCR. By this evening, the teams qualified for tomorrow's Medal Races will be known. 

Luke Patience/Elliott Willis GBR added another race win yesterday in the 470 men and increased the advantage on Belcher/Ryan AUS to 15 points. Barreiros/Curbelo ESP are new on rank 3. The heat is on for the 8-12 ranked teams, separated by 4 points only, with Sozykin/Gribanov RUS (rank 8), Bouvet/Mion FRA (rank 9),Matsunaga/Yoshida JPN (rank 10) Gerz/Szymanski GER (rank 11) and Brauchli/Hausser SUI (rank 12). Extending their lead in the 470 women are Jo Aleh/Polly Powrie NZL now 19 points in front of Hannah Mills/Sakia Clark GBR. New on rank 3 are Ai Kondo/Miho Yoshioka JPN. New on top of the 49ers are Delle-Karth/Resch AUT, but Jake Tuner/Iain Jensen AUS are only one point back. Paz/Paz ESP follow oin rank 3 at some distance. Huge with 52 (!) points is the advantage of Alexandra Maloney/Molly Meech NZL in the 49ersFX. Charlotte Dobson/Sophie Ainsworth GBR and Giulia Conti/Francesca Clapcich ITA are the first chasers. No changes in the Finns, where the leading sailors consolidated their positions. Giles Scott GBR is 10 points ahead of Jake Lilley AUS. Ioannis Mitakis GRE remains on 3rd. Vittorio Bissarro/Silvi Sicouri ITA stay pn top of the Nacra 17 ahead of Saxton/Nicola Groves GBR. Billy Besson/Marie Riou FRA remain on rank 3. The domiinator in the women windsurfers is Bryony Shaw GBR leading in the RS:X women. The Olympic Champion Dorian Van Rijsselberge NED is 1st in the RS:X- men closely followed by Thomas Goyard FRA and Byron Kokkalanis GRE.
