Volvo 65 - Volvo Ocean Race 2014/15 - Leg 2 - Day 7

The seven Teams have been underway for one week now on leg 2 of the Volvo Ocean Race across the Indian Ocean. Unstable conditions still prevailed for the fleet passing the low-wind anticyclone zone west-bound, where the wind has changed to North meanwhile.

The first six teams are separated by 14 miles only, and the all-female Team 'SCA' (Samantha Davis GBR) had reduced the backlog by 10 miles on 30 overnight with hope for more, as their average speed is still 4 kn faster as the rest of the fleet.
'Abu Dhabi' with Ian Walker GBR stays on top 3 miles ahead of 'Mapfre' (Iker Martinez ESP) and 9 miles on 'Dongfeng' (Charles Caudrelier FRA) on 3rd. The passage of Madagascar should not be too difficult today, but lateron, another high pressure system will move in with hardly predictable consequences.
