IMOCA Open 60, Class 40 - Route du Rhum - St.Malo-Guadeloupe FRA - Day 14


After two race weeks, the results in three of the five classes are known and the interests go now to the Class 40, where 32 of the 43 starters are still racing. The leader Alex Pella ESP has 450 miles to sail to the finish where he shall arrive on Wednesday.

The Spanish solo skipper extended his lead on the second-ranked Thibaut Vauchel FRA to over 100 miles. The 3rd-ranked Kito de Pavant FRA is 32 miles behind Vauchel. Anne Caseneuve FRA on the only trimaran in the corinthian 'Class Rhum' leads with 600 miles advance. Wilfried Clerton FRA and the sailing legend Robin Knox-Johnson GBR follow on the ranks 2 and 3 among the 13 participants still in the race.
