Olympic Classes - Olympic Test Event - Rio de Janeiro BRA - Day 4

Olympic Classes - Olympic Test Event - Rio de Janeiro BRA - Day 4Another day with more wind – around 15 kn -as usual in Rio yesterday, and on the outer courses, the big swell was still rolling. Very challenging conditions !
The windsurfers sailing in the Guanabara Bay terminated the Qualification Series with three races, and will sail the Medal Races today. In the RS:X women, the final winner will very likely be Charline Picon FRA, convincing again in yesterday's race and leading with a 16 points' advance on Flavia Tartaglini ITA. The Italian woman is on a solid Silver place 11 points in front of Marina Alabau ESP.
In the RS:X men, the situation on top is closer as the leader Dorian Van Rijsselberge NED is only 3 points ahead of Byron Kokkalanis GRE before the Medal Race. The best of yesterday, Przemyslav Miarczynski POL, advanced on rank 3.
The Olympic Champions Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS remain the outstanding dominators in the 470 men, extending their lead on the second-ranked Fantela/Marenic CRO tied with Patience/Willis GBR on 11 points. Surprisingly Bargehr/Mähr AUT, a new name in the 470 top-ranks, on the 4th position.
Also in the 470 women the Olympic Champions, i.e. Jo Aleh/Polly Powrie NZL, are now on top of the rankings with Haeger/Provancha USA and Mills/Clark GBR as first persuers.
The Skiffs sailed again in the Guanabara Bay, with new d'Ortoli/Delpech FRA on top of the 49ers, closely followed by Burling/Tuke NZL and Outteridge/Jensen AUS.
No change in the 49erFX with Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA on top ahead of Maloney/Meech NZL and Price/Solly AUS.
Giles Scott GBR won 2 of the 3 races in the Finns and extended his lead on 18 points. Jonathan Lobert FRA and Ed Wright GBR follow on the ranks 2 and 3.
With two race wins yesterday, Billy Besson/Marie Riou FRA moved on top of the Nacra 17, ahead of Saxton/Diamond GBR and Bundock/Curtis AUS.
